Batter My Heart, Not Theirs

My yearning amplifies by the day; it multiplies, aggrandizes like the cells within me. Oh, if only I could be there.

Though I may struggle with life, nature conflicts not with me.

I have food, shelter, water, heat--I have the opportunity to work to survive. They do not.

Day by day, my mind is capable of embellishment--the beauty of knowledge I am most thankful for.

Batter my heart, not theirs, for I know I will survive. Had I not been shown the worst of situations, my dreams for the future would not reside in the worst of the worst. A child no more, I need not fame. I need to be there. I want to understand, nourish, love them.

Earthquake-- why not me? Why them? I have food to survive. I have shelter for warmth. I have an abundant supply of water, fresh water, clean water, water that I may drink straight from the faucet. They have none.

The Haitians are my family, for I need them as much as they need me. Or, they will be. I cannot think of any other happiness. As I fade from this world, my presence should forever remain with them. Thus, my life will be fulfilled. I should further have no regret, but utmost happiness--my mind and soul harmonized in paradise.
I have attached links for anyone who would like to contribute and stand with Haiti.
